Being off the FOB

I enjoy being off the FOB. Life just seems so much more relaxed and less stressful. Being on the FOB, there are meetings I have to be at, office hours. When there is nothing to do people are just generally looking for me. Being off the FOB at one of the COPs it is just the chaplain and myself I need to worry about. I tend to sleep in more and my main two mission is one provide a field service, which isnt that hard and i enjoy doing stuff like that and two talk with Soldiers, easy right. I do a little extra PT like this morning I got to do yoga with some of my medic friends. I am happy to have a chaplain again so I can get off the FOB and out to see my Soldiers.

Tracking the Miles

Well yesterday I hit the gym hard and ran for like 8.24 miles. Which is good because i haven't ran that much in a long time and it feels good. I felt so good yesterday but since I woke up this morning my body hurts. Which is not so good. I ran 4.24 miles in the morning and 4 miles in the afternoon. I miss running it use to help me think about things and work thru issues in my head. Plus it help me regulate my weight and it seems since i haven't been able to run i am gaining to much weight. So i need to run more and watch what i eat now to lose a little bit of that weight i have gained this past couple of months.

Back At It Again

So it has been a little rough on me over here in Afghanistan. I miss you many of my friends. But I know will make it. I have to constantly remind myself to pray and to do my devotionals. With all that I have to do here I sometimes forget the important things like prayer and just spending time in God's Word. For He is truly my strength.

So I have decided that I will try to just tell my stories on here. I will be putting up pictures and just some random stuff. So comment and let know what you think.
